A group of 14 retreatants gathered at the Assumption Abbey monastery in Ava, MO to spend time in quiet solitude and reflection. The diverse group made up of MTW missionaries, MTW staff, clergy, and lay people came together for four days with a common purpose: to get away and be spiritually refreshed.
Melanie Benedict, who serves with MTW’s marketing and communication department, shared the following about her experience: “I went on the Ava retreat expecting a time of refreshment and disconnection from the world. With plenty of time for prayer and solitude (and a lack of internet access), I came away renewed and refreshed. The meals and evening gatherings with other retreat participants provided great opportunities to learn from others. What set this retreat apart for me was that I came away with more than just refreshment. I came away with a renewed longing to draw ever nearer to Jesus.”
Join us for our next retreat on Sept. 30-Oct. 3, 2019.
